Witherspoon Street Painting of Lahaires, Princeton paintings and Prints available to purchase by artist Robert Hummel.
Title: The Last Supper At Laheire,
by artist Robert Hummel Copyright 2013
By chance I was walking past Laheire the night it was closing its doors for the last time after so many years. I witnessed many coming out and hugging staff at the door with many tears flowing. When asking it was explained that they had been dining there for many years and will no longer as they were closing. This went on for some time and when returning to may studio, I was inspired to create what I called ( THE LAST SUPPER AT LAHEIRE Copyright 2012) as for many it was indeed their last supper or dinner at this loved Princeton establishment on Witherspoon Street. Did you know Albert Einstein enjoyed eating here and had his own table! So many other dignitaries including famous authors, scientists, celebrities and Princeton Professors enjoyed this dining establishment over the years.

Painting title: A Spring Night At The Priory Court
This painting is of a gothic style home called Priory Court on Egerstoune Road. This amazing estate was chosen for one of the Junior League of Greater Princeton's designer showhouse and gardens. Albert Einstein was known to visit often and play his violin there.
From the Junior League of Princeton: Priory Court was designed in 1933 by renowned architect, Alfred Hopkins. Hopkins was known as an estate architect who specialized in country houses and farms. He had a long list of well to do clients, including the highly discriminating Louis Comfort Tiffany, but it turns out his most difficult client to please was indeed himself: he spent over 20 years searching for the perfect location to build his own estate, the stunning Priory Court! The attention to detail, quality of craftsmanship and old-world feel are extraordinary. We have it on good authority that Albert Einstein loved the music wing so much that he logged countless hours playing his violin there.
